New and Proposed Routes 🆕
Air China (CA) will launch daily flights from Beijing Capital (PEK) and three-times-weekly service from Chengdu (CTU) to Brussels (BRU) on March 24 and March 26, respectively. Both routes will be flown by Airbus A330 equipment. Chengdu will become the fifth mainland Chinese destination served from Brussels, joining Beijing, Chongqing (CKG), Shanghai (PVG), and Shenzhen (SZX). Brussels also maintains service to Hong Kong (HKG).
China Southern Airlines (CZ) has booked a 2x weekly sector from Ürümqi(URC) to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (RUH). This Boeing 737 MAX 8 flights begins in early June. Now I will freely admit that I had no idea where Ürümqi was, so I looked it up. The town sits in the far northwest of China in the Xinjiang region, roughly 1,540 miles from Beijing.
Staying in China, Sichuan Airlines (3U) is set to add 3x weekly service from Chongqing to Kuala Lumpur (KUL) on December 18. An Airbus A320 is rostered for this one.
